Privacy Policy

BOOKYO (bookyo.com.au) provides an AI assistant that answers enquiries and takes bookings for service businesses. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

Information we collect

We collect only what we need to run the service:

  • Business accounts: your name, email, phone number, business details, services and rates, availability, and payment-link settings.
  • Your clients: the name, phone number, email address or chat handle they use to contact you, the messages exchanged, and booking details.
  • Technical data: basic logs (such as IP address and request times) used to keep the service secure and working.
  • Assistant questions: if you use the Ask BOOKYO box on our website, we record the text of the question so we can improve our FAQ. We don't keep the full conversation for this purpose.

How we use it

To answer your clients' enquiries on your behalf, quote from your own rates, book times you have marked available and request deposits; to show conversations to you in your inbox; to send you notifications you have switched on; and to maintain, secure and improve the service. We do not sell personal information and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

AI processing

Messages are processed by an AI model to draft replies. The model is given your business profile and the conversation, and nothing else it does not need. You can reply yourself at any time — when you do, the assistant goes quiet in that conversation.

Service providers

We use trusted providers to deliver the service. They process data only to provide their part of it:

  • OpenAI
  • Amazon Web Services
  • Postmark
  • Mobile Message
  • WhatsApp
  • Telegram

Deposits are paid through the business's own payment link (for example Stripe). We never see or store card details.

Messages and opt-outs

Messages go to people who have contacted the business or booked with it. Replying STOP to an SMS opts that number out straight away, in line with the Spam Act 2003. We never send photos or files — only links.

Your choices and rights

You can ask to access, correct or delete your personal information. Business owners can update their details in their account; clients can ask the business they contacted, or contact us directly. We keep data while the business account is active, and delete it on request or once it is no longer needed, unless the law requires us to keep it. If you have a privacy concern or complaint, email admin@bookyo.com.au — if we can't resolve it, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
